Get to know me

I'm an instructional designer with a unique background, both personally and professionally. In my current role, I primarily work in developing Articulate Storyline courses for Fortune 500 companies. I enjoy both the creative and technical aspects of working with Storyline. I have extensive experience in designing and conducting ILTs and VILTs for a diverse array of learners. Additionally, I have a multicultural background and a strong understanding of cultural sensitivity, having grown up in France and having lived in Germany, Costa Rica, the United States and Mexico. I speak English, French and Spanish fluently.

Education

I have a master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the University of Washington. My degree has been very useful as I’ve transitioned from university teaching to instructional design. My master’s program primarily focused on adult education, with a focus on secondary language acquisition. My experience with qualitative and quantitative research has applied well in conducting needs analyses. The courses I took, such as Pedagogical Grammar and Teaching Writing, have proven useful in writing storyboards. When I write interactions for ILTs and VILTs, I draw from my ten years of experience as an educator. I gained valuable insight into how people process information in my neurolinguistics class. I also studied best practices in designing, implementing and evaluating assessments.

Personal

Outside of work you'll find me salsa dancing, enjoying the outdoors, or watching soccer. I also enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. In 2021, I put my things in storage and spent a year and a half in Mexico. While I had traveled extensively before and was raised abroad, I had never been to Mexico and I didn't know anyone where I was going. I immersed myself in the culture and increased my proficiency in Spanish to the point of fluency. I also took bachata and salsa dance classes, and learned how to make some authentic Mexican dishes.
